Get Involved – Volunteer & Lead

There are many ways you can help strengthen our community or get support for your own ideas.

We are looking for dedicated individuals to join us in the following roles:

Volunteer Befriender: Visit or call isolated residents to offer companionship.

Connect Friend: Help new arrivals practice conversational English in a relaxed setting.

Market Assistant: Sort through donations of clothes, books, and furniture.

Pantry Helper: Stock shelves, manage check-ins, and help with food collections.

Money Mentor: Help neighbors with basic budgeting and identify eligibility for support.

Community Mentor: Support people who have great ideas but don't know how to start.

Do you have an idea for the community? Through LYECANDO, we offer community leadership training and financial support.

Action Fund Grant: Apply for up to £250 to start a new project or fund an existing group that brings the community together.

CANDO Learning Community: Join a group of residents wanting to make a difference in The Lye.
